Business Objects developer/consultant - Brussel

Context of the mission :
In the context of the rollout of the new BO XI V3.x platform and migration
from BO 6.5 towards this new BO XI V3.x platform, different projects will be started in 2010 in the
Business Intelligence team of Functions IT (working for all business lines of the bank).

We are actively searching for an experienced Business objects consultant/developer to assist us and
participate on those projects and to help us acquire knowledge in the support team.

We will use this opportunity too to review existing setup (universes etc) and simplify where possible.

The candidate will have to demonstrate a specific profile described below.

Period mission:
Start Date : asap
Duration : 1 year with possible extension.

Language requirement:
Sound knowledge of Dutch and French ; good knowledge of English

Localisation of the job:
Brussels (near Central Station)

Required level and content of education: Master or bachelor.

Business experience required:

Preferable: Worked in Financial Banking world

Technical experience required:

knowledge about DWH and data mart design principles
Business Objects XI V3 (Administrator/supervisor, Designer, WEBIntelligence, …- API development)
- experienced
Business Objects V 6.5 (Supervisor, Univers Designer , Webi / full client reporting, …) - Advanced
Practical experience with setup and execution of migration projects from BO 6.5 to BOXI V3 – do’s
and don’ts
Ability to transfer specifications or business requirements into a data mart design for BO/Sybase
MS Office

Functional experience required:

Preferable: 2-3 years of professional experience in banking industry (context of data manipulated easier).

Objective of the job:

§ Knowledge and experience sharing and transfer to the internal support team
§ Assist in the design, setup and execution of processes and procedures around the migration from 6.5 to BOXI ; creation of documentation (for support team and end-users)
§ Assist in the testing of the new BOXI platform that will be deployed by IT (technical +
functional tests – deployment mechanisms – writing of procedure notes ‘how-to’ - …)
§ Setup of migration approach + application in pilot projects (reviewing as-is at the same time / simplifying / better security setup / etc). Discussions within the team, with IT colleagues, with responsible and end-users of the universes.
§ Possible assistance in extracting metadata from BOXI for publication to our BI community
§ Assist in the day-to-day support of our end-users (working in BO 6.5 and later also in
BOXI)
§ Assist in reviews of complex existing universes and reportings
