Functieomschrijving Windows Software Packager and Release Coordinator COBEFEJ0209 Context of the mission We are actively searching an individual to work in the Software Release Services team that is responsible to prepare software for deployment and coordinate changes on the Windows platform. The deliverables of the team consist of quality assured Microsoft Installer (MSI) packages created using InstallShield AdminStudio and/or Microsoft Softgrid packages, following our company wide standards for software in the Windows environment. The list of software to be packaged is dependant on the projects or update releases. Each application/software is subject to a release process that consists of the following phases: 1. Information gathering 2. Package development 3. Technical testing 4. Quality assurance 5. Deployment The proposed candidate will have to meet specific profile requirements described below.

Localisation of the job Brussels (Rue du Marais, Broekstraat), Belgium.
Objective of the job General Task Description 1. Classification of requests Creation of Requests For Change based on a delivery assessment Translate Requests For Change into technical elements (component, application, bundle) 2. Software Information Gathering, Packaging/Sequencing, Testing and Deployment Gather information from business/IT sources, retrieve installation media, installation in development, software/application packaging or sequencing, package testing and certification, preparation for deployment, documentation 3. Software Infrastructure Planning Determine the (Terminal Server/Citrix) server infrastructure requirements to deliver the software based on user and system requirements, provide a planning for infrastructure readiness 4. Technical Software Support Provide support for technical issues with the software release, initiate corrective actions, help with the administration of the software infrastructure, second line support 5. Monitor workflow and quality of service Act as point of contact for a change. Follow changes through the complete workflow from start to finish. Verify quality of service before handover to the QA department. Do handover to the QA team. Keep track of the timeline of the change and trigger responsible departments when necessary.
Remarks Scope of Services and Deliverables · Communication with application responsible (non technical end-user) · Communication with other IT departments · Creation of Requests for Change based on a delivery assessment · Packaging of applications & utilities for client based installations · Packaging of software for Terminal Server/Citrix based installations · Sequencing of software for Softgrid based installations · Create or update documentation concerning our packaging standards for applications · Create or update documentation on the software installation procedure, automation and known problems · Install and test software in qualification environment · Packaging and assistance to our development staff on in- house developed software · Creating start-up and installation scripts in VBS and ASP · Verification of changes for correct documentation and completeness. Functie-Eisen Required knowledge and experience Required level and content of education Bachelor/Graduate Personal skills Mandatory: Normal social skills, able to work in a team of professionals under pressure, good communication skills, able to interact with business users, technical writing skills, capable of working on concepts and processes. Preferable: Autonomy, proven track record of meeting deadlines, planning and organisation skills Business experience Mandatory: 3-5 years of professional experience in IT for the enterprise Preferable: Experience in IT for financial institutions Technical experience Mandatory: Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server, Office 2003, Active Directory Experience with Terminal Server/Citrix (publishing, resource management, policies, user settings) Scripting (VBS and ASP) MSI Packaging with Macrovision Admin Studio Microsoft/Softricity Softgrid sequencing Preferable: Network and storage related skills Good knowledge of database structures and SQL statements Functional experience Mandatory: Experience in industrialization of software distribution Familiar with structured methodologies for the preparation, packaging, test and deployment of applications Experience in developing installation packages using MSI scripting for a wide variety of software. Application sequencing using Microsoft/Softricity Softgrid Preferable: Awareness of ITIL concepts
